quattro
fil
interconnect cable
The new Nordost Quattro Fil
interconnect "makes the connection" using state
of the art technology. Utilizing the latest advances in high-speed
signal transmission the new Quattro Fil has been designed
to offer the highest level of resolution, detail and musical
performance between line level components. The new cable uses
Nordost's patent pending Micro Monofilament design technology.
The interconnect consists of four groups
of conductors. Each group is made up of seven 99.999999% OFC
conductors covered with 50 microns of extruded silver. Each
conductor is wrapped with a very fine helix Teflon spacer
that has minimal contact to the surface of the metal. A Teflon
tube is extruded over the spacer sealing the conductor and
suspending it in inert air. This prevents oxidation.
The four Teflon tubes are then wound around
each other and are bonded together by a proprietary wrapping
technique. A dual layer of silver served shielding is then
wound around the assembly. Over this a Teflon jacket is extruded.
The result is a cable with incredibly fast signal propagation,
which performs music with a new level of realism.
Each interconnect cable is hand built and is available with
normal ground before signal RCA connectors or gold Balanced
XLR connectors. It is also available as a mini 5-pin din to
RCA cable for use with turntables.
